Minutes – Thousand Islands Voyageurs - Waddington, NY Aug. 8, 2010

Meeting convened at 9:10am . A quorum was confirmed.

Sharon Bazinet led the singing of the national anthems followed by a moment of silence.

The President, Alice Foy, thanked the members for attending the rally and introduced first time attendees, Jim & Cathy Gibson and Bill & Bev Billings.

The Secretary, Gary Grant had no report.  The President, on behalf of the Chapter Treasurer, Leo Grigaitis who was absent, reported there was $2871.84 in the US account and $3647.40 in the Canadian account. 

The VP - Canada, Austin Slack reported he had 2 potential hosts for rallies in Canada in 2011. The VP - USA, Betsy Stoker, called on members to come forward with suggestions on two US rallies for 2011.

The VP - Membership, Dan Bazinet advised four new couples had joined the Chapter while 4 member couples had let their membership lapse due to age or the selling of their motorhome.  Membership now totalled 69 coaches and 136 individual members.  Dan also reminded members there was a 'distress' procedure in effect should an emergency occur while attending a rally. Should members find themselves in distress, they should honk their horn 3 times and turn on their emergency flashers.

The National Director, Christine Charney reported she attended the Essex Junction NEAR rally in July.  She further reported the confusion concerning the area the Chapter.  No final decision had been made and the membership indicted they preferred being under the North East ara of FMCA.

A member of the North Centrals advised there was a rally hosted by them in Syracuse August 19 to 22.

The President called for volunteers to form the nominating committee as elections take place in September.  The Nomination Committee consists of Barb Haig, Sharon Bazinet and John Peterson.

Moved by Nancy Grant and seconded, the meeting was adjourned at 9:25am.
