Minutes – Thousand Islands Voyageurs - Mallorytown, On Sept. 12, 2009

Meeting convened at 9:30am .  All members of the Executive Board were in attendance. A quorum was confirmed.

The President, Robert Vanier led the singing of the national anthems followed by a moment of silence.

The President thanked the members for attending the rally and introduced first time attendees, Peter & Aleta Schepers. The President then passed the mike to the Secretary, Gary Grant to read the minutes.

From a motion from the floor, it is moved by Christine Charney and seconded, ‘to waive reading of the minutes of the last meeting.’ CARRIED

The Secretary called for any errors or omissions to the minutes. There were none. A motion from the floor, it is moved by Christine Charney and seconded, ‘to approve the minutes of the last meeting.’ CARRIED

The Vice President – USA, Alice Foy thanked Dan & Sharon Bazinet and Robert & Linda Vanier, for hosting the rally and advised the members there was a rally planned next August, 2010 at Waddington, NY and in July, 2010 at either Sackets or Henderson Harbor.  More information will come forward as plans progress. Alice also read a letter sent to her by Sandy Baughn regarding the health of Tom Baughn, a past TIV President.  The membership was moved and asked the Secretary to send a note to the Baugh’s on behalf of the membership.

The Secretary, Gary Grant reported that the second draft of the Standing Rules was now online. As Webmaster, he also thanked the membership for their ongoing input and expressed the website – www. FMCA.CA - was current.

The Treasurer, Leo Grigaitis reported the current Cdn bank balance was $3596.27 while the US account was $2914.50. A motion from the floor, moved by Sharon Bazinet and seconded, ‘to accept the Treasurer’s report.’ CARRIED

The Vice President – Membership, Dan Bazinet thanked everyone for their support and attendance. He advised it was membership renewal time and asked all members to send in their dues.  He also responded to an earlier question advising all prizes awarded at the rally were donations and at no cost to the chapter.

The acting National Director, John Foy had no report.

No old business to report.

New business:

Dan Bazinet advised a newsletter is mailed to all persons who do not have an email address.

Linda Vanier advised there was a craft class – card making - planned for the rally.

Nancy Grant advised a Bocce Ball tournament was taking place after lunch and invited all to participate or watch the event.

The President then called for the annual elections to take place by appointing a secretary, Barb Haig and a moderator, John Foy to come forward and proceed with the Nomination Committee report and hold elections.

The chair was relinquished to the Moderator.

The chair was returned to Robert Vanier, the outgoing President who thanked the old Executive for their support. He then congratulated the new Executive and ‘passed the gavel’ and President plates to the new incoming President, Alice Foy.

Various former Executive members then made presentations of pins and plates to their new counterparts.

A motion from the floor, moved by Chris Charney and seconded, ‘to adjourn at 10:03 am ’ CARRIED
