Barbara
& Kermit Haig hosted a wonderful rally on September
10-12 at the Norfolk Firehall which was an excellent
location. The Haigs were provided with ample
assistance by Alice & John Foy. Sixteen
coaches attended. We were sorry that five others
who had wanted to come - the Vaniers, Youngs, Stokers,
Grigaitises & one more bus were forced to cancel due
to health & medical reasons. A number of the
rigs arrived early on Thursday and enjoyed going out for
dinner together. The Friday Meet & Greet was a
happy get together with enough nibbles to make supper
unnecessary for some people!
Saturday morning the breakfast at Ponderosa was a treat
for all who participated. Jackie Peterson
conducted a craft session on Saturday afternoon while
downtown Massena closed a block of the main street to
traffic for a sidewalk & craft sale & various
attractions. Our potluck dinner on Saturday was
magnificent with an assortment of delectable dishes.
The cake was decorated in a tribute to the 10th
anniversary of 9/11 & a moment of silence was
observed.
Our Sunday morning breakfast of doughnuts was tasty.
It was followed by an executive meeting and our general
meeting which included the successful election of our
executive for the coming year. The weather
cooperated favourably with lovely sunny days. Our
hearts were warmed by the fact that Stan Williams was
able to come & be with us. It was a
pleasure for all of us to see Stan & spend some time
with him.
Many
thanks for your contribution, Chris.
It's appreciated by all TIV members.
